February 15, 2010 Hike #2
After hiking the Tripyramids in the morning, I decided on the Hancocks. I began the hike at 10:45. Up I headed to the top of North Hancock. On the way, I was "warned" by some hikers that the gray jays were out in force. I reached the top of North Hancock and walked over to the lookout.

I looked around for gray jays but saw none. I took out a Larabar to snack on when they ambushed me, diving down like World War II bomber pilots. Here's a few photos of the gray jays.

The clouds finally began to break, and I had a nice view.

This was a milestone day, including repeats (obviously) this was my 500th New England 4000 footer.
I went over to the outlook for a view to the east.

Next I began my descent.

I was able to butt slide down to the bottom of the loop. Then I had a nice easy walk out. I finished at 2:45. The trails have been so ideal lately that I actually feel a little guilty about it. That's about to end. We've got snow in the forecast.
