December 5, 2009 Hike #1
It's time to get going on my December Grid. It is my weakest month with just eleven peaks. Let's get to work. I decided on a double hike today. I wanted to take advantage of Sawyer River Road being open so I decided on Carrigain. Madison and I were on the trail at 6:45. There was absolutely no snow at the base of the mountain. As I ascended the mountain, I began to run into traces of snow. It was well packed but slippery so I but on my Stabilicers. Up we climbed to Signal Ridge.

Then we bagged the summit. Madison wasn't crazy about climbing the tower but I coaxed her along.

Back we headed the way we came passing several hikers along the way. We got back about 10:45. Time for Hike #2
